The Bahrain Institute for Special Education (BISE) is a non-profit organization established in 2002 to improve the quality of special education in Bahrain. BISE is a facility which works to advance the development and education of individuals with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by disseminating current and accurate information and advice, and by providing independent, specialist consultancy, evaluation and educational services.
BISE seeks to become a recognized leader in Bahrain by providing quality services in evaluation and diagnosis, and designing individual-specific programs for those with special needs, as well as developing research and aiding in their cognitive development and education. The Institute publishes information and practical guides, organizes conferences and workshops, and provides advisory and consultancy services for families and professionals concerned with the care and development of individuals with special needs.
BISE aims to provide individuals with special needs with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them access to main-stream education. It also seeks to keep its members and friends abreast of important information pertaining to special education through its weekly newsletter and web site. Our ultimate goal is to integrate children with special needs into main-stream education.
