Job Description

Job Role:

  • Leads human resource business processes for a moderately complex organization or multiple functions.
  • Responsible for the improvement, deployment and effectiveness of a broad range of human resources processes across the business of functional organization.
  • Ensures compliance with legislative requirements and adherence with human resources policies and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides staffing and recruiting support, evaluate structure, job design and headcount forecasting, and other people data analysis; implements tactics to select and maintain a diverse workforce.
  • Resolve conflicts and provides coaching and counselling on human resources matters for individuals or groups within a defined organization or function.

  • Leads performance management activities, including employee development planning.

  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of workforce information in human resources information systems.

  • Facilitates compensation process and benefits administration by partnering with shared services and corporate human resources; develops and implements workforce compensation recommendations.

  • Conducts and documents investigations for business areas or corporate functional areas.

  • Manages administration of and adherence to human resources policies and procedures; advises organizational and functional leadership on compliance with key legislative requirements.

  • Leads training needs assessments and participates in training activities and special projects.

  • Participates in initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness of human resources processes; leads specific improvement initiatives.

  • Create employment contracts as required by local law or practice.

  • Coaches and mentors less experienced human resources generalists.

Additional locally defined responsibilities:

  • This is a supervisory role.

  • Support and assist the HR leader in coaching and guiding line managers and leaders in all aspects of employer relations (ER) including disciplinary and grievance matters

  • Manage departures by conducting exit interviews and liaising with payroll for the calculation of gratuity and end of service benefits.

  • Support the recruitment process by creating job adverts and determining best method of recruitment as appropriate.

  • Authorize payroll actions and action through Payroll Analyst and ensure compliance.

  • Coordinate annual merit review process.

  • Undertake all disciplinary investigations and ensure that disciplinary process is followed correctly.

  • Actively promote Cummins culture and implement initiatives to establish a positive relationship between employees and the company.

  • Organizational Development, including:

    • Conflict Management

    • Coaching and Counselling

    • Job design and evaluation

    • Performance management

  • Employee development planning (Individual Development Planning/Organization Development Review)
  • As a partner with CBS, manage compensation process and link with benefits administration

  • Lead the consistent completion of key HR processes

  • Investigations

  • Promote the right environment to support the Organization’s Vision and concepts of the Cummins Operating Systems (COS) and Cummins Business Model (CBM)
