Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on marine engineering vessels, including cranes, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.

  1. On-Site Technical Support: Provide immediate technical assistance to resolve equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining operational schedules.
  2. System Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of critical systems to identify potential issues, ensure compliance with safety standards, and verify equipment performance.
  3. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, prepare detailed service reports, and document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with the vessel crew, project managers, and shore-based engineering teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure seamless operations.
  5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including offshore safety protocols, to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Training and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and training to vessel crew members on the proper operation and basic maintenance of equipment.
  7. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, diagnosing issues under pressure and implementing effective solutions to restore operations.

Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Relevant technical certifications are a plus.

  1. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a service engineer or similar role, preferably in marine or offshore environments.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with marine engineering equipment and systems is highly desirable.
  3. Certifications: Valid offshore survival and safety training certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) are preferred.
  4. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
  5. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions. Must pass a medical fitness test for offshore work.
  6. Language: Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional languages are an advantage.
  7. Environment: Offshore marine vessels, with exposure to harsh weather, confined spaces, and high-noise environments.
  8. Schedule: Rotational work schedule (e.g., 28 days on/off), with extended working hours during operational demands.
  9. Travel: Frequent travel to and from offshore vessels, with potential for international assignments.
