Air Products has entered into an agreement with ACWA Power and NEOM (all 3 have equal ownership) for the development of a $8bl green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility sited in NEOM. This is based on renewable energy principles and the project will integrate over four gigawatts of renewable solar, wind and storage power. It will produce green ammonia for export to global markets. The project is scheduled to be onstream in 2026.
1. POSITION SUMMARY
- Hydrogen Innovation and Development Center (HIDC) Field Operator role is a key member of the O&M team for NGHC.
- Responsible for the day to day activities of the hydrogen field production process, which includes operating the process on field: Electrolysers, H2 compressors, Deoxo reactors, TSAs, water treatment and H2 pipeline.
- The incumbent shall operate in accordance with company safety policies and site-specific procedures to ensure reliability, efficiency and productivity goals are met.
- Based in Neom, the position reports to HIDC Superintendent.
- 2. NATURE & SCOPE
- The main functions of this position are:
- SAFETY IS FIRST, nothing is important than safety, be fully aligned with all EH&S standards to achieve the goal of zero (0) lost time injuries at HIDC
- Troubleshoot, collaborate with the O&M team, providing support from the field.
- Perform daily/monthly routines in accordance with operation and maintenance manuals, procedures, safety policies, and site-specific requirements.
- Candidates will be required to meet training requirements and successfully pass scheduled validation reviews.
- Actively participate in NGHC safety programs, promote, and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
- Build and maintain a good relationship with all customers and stakeholders to ensure close cooperation.
- Understand the detailed Emergency Response Plan, accept authority in an emergency to take all steps necessary to protect personnel, and ensure safe operation or plant shut down.
- Take daily process samples.
- Apply LOTO process on field.
- Will be responsible of overall housekeeping in the plant.
- Will work rotating shifts.
- Will be on call during certain periods of time.
- Assist in updating operating documents.
- Strong commitment to team building, integrity, and diversity.
- Provide shutdown support leading the operation activities on field.
- Provide training to new field operators.
- Contribute to maintaining site management systems, e.g. MOC, BPs, SWIMs, JSAs

· Will act as a new field operator’s trainer.
5. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
High school diploma in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of related plant field operation experience in the industrial gas, chemical, refining and or related industry.

6. SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
- High school diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Candidate must possess a strong safety focus and background.
- More than 3 years of experience in production plants operation.
- Experience in handling PFDs, P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams and Shutdown Matrix.
- Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to be on call.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience in work permits and applying the LOTO process is a plus.
- Proactive, honest, teamwork and hard working
- Be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Hydrogen production experience is a plus.
