• Drilling Engineer
  • Develops, plans and costs drilling activities.  A Drilling Engineer can be involved throughout the lifecycle of a well, from the initial design through to its abandonment.
  • Typial Day/Duties.
  • Plans drilling programme
  • Designs the well
  • Co-ordinates the work of offshore drilling teams
  • Analyses drilling performance and factors affecting cost and efficiency
  • Prepares budget and monitors costs
  • How this role fits in with the rest of the industry.
  • Works closely with other technical departments to drill for oil and gas in new or existing fields. A Drilling Engineer can be employed onshore or offshore, either working for an operator, a service company, a specialist drilling contractor or a consultancy.
  • Basic entry requirements include (necessary)
  • Relevant degree in science or engineering
  • Should be willing to travel offshore
  • Employers might also look for (desirable)

  • Strong team working skills
  • Typical starting salary may be in the region of 
  • AED25,000 - AED30,000
  • Typical Salary once experienced 
  • AED40,000 - AED75,000
