Basic Function: The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:
1. Develop financial strategies
2. Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
3. Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
4. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
5. Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
6. Execute the financial strategy of the company
7. Manage financial controls and accounting procedures
8. Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company
9. Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
10. Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner
11. Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
12. Support the GM with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans
13. Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments
14. Oversee the issuance of financial information
15. Report financial results to the board of directors
16. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
17. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
18. Construct and monitor reliable control systems
19. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
20. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
21. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
