Divers carry out a variety of subsea tasks and responsibilities including welding or carrying out inspections. When Divers are not diving they will be required to carry our other duties to support operations.
Working days can be long and can be based in some of the harshest subsea environmental conditions in the North Sea or abroad.
Typial Day/Duties.
Accesses and exits from most dive sites via a ‘wetbell’ or basket.
Carries out subsea maintenance work which may include; welding, inspection, cutting, non-destructive testing (NDT).
Due to limited time permitted for air diving per working day most of the shift will involve assisting in deck work and other duties to support operations.
How this role fits in with the rest of the industry.
Divers are responsible for carrying out subsea work and communicating with top side engineering teams with regards to the condition of subsea structures, equipment and materials so that repairs can be planned in to the work schedule.

HSE 1st Aid @ Work & O2 Provider (Commercial Diving Endorsement)
HSE Professional SCUBA (Part 4)
HSE Surface Supplied (Part 3)
HSE Wet-Bell Top-Up (Part 1)
Subsea Inspection & Tooling Certificate
RYA Powerboat Level II
Basic offshore induction and emergency training (BOSIET)
Offshore Medical Certificate
Employers might also look for (desirable)
Previous experience as a commercial diver
HNC/HND/ BTEC in trade or engineering discipline or equivalent
