Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to assist Gillardino (Italian Restaurant & lounge) in creating the best experience possible for our guests. The Ops Manager will have primary responsibility for the kitchen, and catering. The Ops Manager  will help improve the menu, hire and train an entirely new staff, work with vendor-partners, establish a stock room, purchase kitchen equipment and food supplies and help manage a successful grand opening as well as lead day-to-day operations.

This position is the equivalent of full time


A minimum of 5 years of management experience in food service is required (Italian Restaurant is preferred)

Experience managing a facility with more than $1 million dollars in annual revenue is preferred

A bachelor’s degree in business management or food service management is preferred

Above all this position requires a fun fueled spirit and a dedicated team player

Organizational, follow-up and multitasking skills are a must

Eagerness to grow within the organization

Experience with employee scheduling and cash handling


Responsible for overall operations of the kitchen, dining area and bar

Create the best drink and dine experience for our customers

Share in Manager on Duty responsibilities, including opening and closing the facility and directing crew members

Order and manage inventory, suggest new products and cost saving ideas

Enforce safe food preparation and sanitary standards

Maintain budget and employee work schedule

Focus on optimizing profitability, including reducing food waste and marketing food and drink specials

Great Attitude: Being friendly, respectful and even-tempered will help keep customers and employees coming back

Attention to Detail: There are many important elements under this manager’s responsibility: food standards, costs, safety, personnel and cleanliness

Leadership: The ops manager needs to be a strong communicator and connector who can rallying the team, resolve conflicts professionally, leverage individual talents and continual development of all staff

Management Skills: This role is responsible for delivering consistently tasty food at an affordable price while managing costs and staff efficiency

Organizational Skills: Organization of shipments, cleaning and work schedules is crucial to the success of this role. Developing a system for ordering, maintaining proper stock levels, inventory tracking, merchandise, beverages and food. The ops manager must be a strong multi-tasker and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Business-Minded: Summarizing and analyzing information for budgeting revenues and expenses as well as measuring costs of products and services.

Problem-Solving Skills: Dealing with employee conflict, customer complaints and incorrect stock orders. The operations manager will be empowered to make things right.

Team-Oriented: Work with fellow management and the events team to ensure special promotions, corporate events and private parties are the best celebrations ever.
