1. The Occupational Therapist functions under the direction of the Occupational Therapy Service Team Leader and the Rehabilitation Unit Supervisor. The OT reports continuous progress and updates on a weekly basis/as needed to the service team leader.

2. The OT is a proactive member of the Rehabilitation department, regularly collaborating with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Pathologist in providing the best possible care for all patients.

3. The OT is responsible for monitoring own patient case load, in in-patient and out-patient settings, ensuring a comprehensive service delivery model that is evidence based and patient-family centered.

4. The OT interacts directly with patients and their families, and updates other professionals on patient’s status when needed in inter or multi-disciplinary team clinics.

5. The OT is responsible for providing patient care that is age appropriate, and addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs of the patient.

6. Flexible with being able to provide in-patient coverage for a variety of acute patients during weekday, weekend and holidays as on-call basis.

7. Service leader coverage responsibilities required.

Skills

Job Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Required Minimum Experience: 3 years’ experience post - graduate as an Occupational Therapist.
- Competent in functioning independently for providing both in-patient and out-patient Occupational Therapy services.
- Sufficient experience in an acute-care setting to function with multi-disciplinary teams and be competent in assessing and managing both adult and pediatric patients if needed.

Required Skills:
- The Occupational Therapist demonstrates a thorough knowledge of evidence-based techniques in Occupational Therapy.
- Ability to multi-task using critical thinking skills, advocates for patient & family centered care.
- Current BLS certification.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, primarily in English and fluency in Arabic highly preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in a clear, courteous, professional and tactful manner especially in stressful situations.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and teamwork.
