We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced C2 Certified Electrical Engineer with specialized expertise in power plants and substations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems in power generation and transmission environments. This role demands strong technical knowledge in power system engineering and a working understanding of grid interconnection, protection schemes, and SCADA systems.
Key Responsibilities: Power Plant & Substation Engineering:
Supervise installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems in power plants (thermal, hydro, or renewable) and HV/MV substations (33kV–400kV).
Ensure compliance with utility and grid code requirements for power generation and transmission infrastructure.
Perform protection relay configuration, SCADA integration, and control system troubleshooting.
Conduct load flow analysis, fault studies, and relay coordination.
Design and review single line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing, earthing layouts, and panel wiring diagrams.
Manage transformer testing, switchgear, circuit breakers, busbars, CTs/VTs, and other substation equipment.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with local electrical codes, utility standards, grid authority requirements, and safety regulations.
Participate in internal and external audits, commissioning tests, and site inspections.
Project Execution & Documentation:
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams during multidisciplinary project execution.
Prepare technical reports including method statements, as-built drawings, and maintenance schedules.
Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical faults or power outages.
Team Leadership:
Supervise electrical technicians and contractors during construction and commissioning.
Train junior engineers and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
