Product Development Specialist
Responsible for researching, developing, and launching new products for a company. Responds to company initiatives by driving new products to meet customer needs.
A product development specialist must have creativity and technical skills to develop new products or enhance the design of existing products. The ability to communicate effectively with other departments in the organization including engineering, production, quality control, marketing and project managers is necessary in the role of a product development specialist. The specialist must have the ability to communicate highly technical information in a way that all employees can understand.
Ø Grow company revenues by developing new products.
Ø Work with vendors to identify issues with incoming products.
Ø Advise vendors on best practices and methods to correct issues.
Ø Participate in quality assurance process.
Ø Participate in creating, launching, or implementing new products.
Ø Manage future and existing assigned products, set objectives and report on performance.
Ø Generate products and services from inception to commercialization for customers.
Ø Define products and programs.
Ø Establish milestone and objectives.
Ø Oversee development of advertising, public relations and all marketing communications to meet product objectives.
Ø Work with product management team to ensure process is efficient.
Ø Lead teams in developing and defining business requirements for retention products.
Ø Define product vision.
Ø Work with suppliers and regional marketing teams to deliver quality products.
Ø Ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Ø Participate in cross-functional teams to execute product development plan.
Ø Conduct periodic product analysis and optimize as needed.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four year college or university or equivalent
