2. JOB PURPOSE:
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Chief Accountant/Assistant Controller, responsible for receiving, keeping and disbursing monies and recording monetary transactions in accordance with the laid down policy and procedure of the Hotel.

Day- to-day operations
Collects remittance envelopes from safe drop box, ensuring that envelopes tally with those recorded in Logbook.
Counts money to verify amounts recorded on envelops.
Prepares bank deposit ensuring total deposits agree with cash income.
Prepares following on daily basis:
Daily cash receipt
Recapitulations
Remittance envelops opening
Balance all House Banks daily; prepares daily Bank count for Income Auditor.
Prepares petty cash vouchers, disburses petty cash and prepares summary of same for approval by Chief Accountant/Assistant Controller.
Maintains adequate change fund for all Hotel Cashiers.
Maintains register for payments of pending reimbursements to Cashier in accordance with Hotel Policy.
Deposits “Bank Deposits” daily.
Controls cash receipts and foreign exchange vouchers issued.
Disburses salaries of employees on paydays in accordance with Hotel Policy and Procedure.
Collects payroll from bank and distributes same in employees pay envelopes.
Assists the Chief Accountant/Assistant Controller in the preparation of the monthly financial statements.
Complies with Hotel’s Health, safety & Hygiene policy.

5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Chief Accountant/Assistant Controller.
Interacts with fellow accounting personnel on matters relating to the cashiers office.
Interacts with bank officials with regard to lodgements, withdrawals and cashing of cheques.
Interacts with Hotel personnel with regard to the disbursement of salaries and other payments.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Passing grades in High School in subjects such as Mathematics, Book-keeping, Accountancy or appropriate qualification in Accountancy.
Minimum Experience:
At least 4 years experience as Restaurant Cashier/Front Office Cashier gained in IH or equivalent chain. Personality/Appearance: Pleasant, well groomed
