- Provide second level support and response for security events including but not limited to intrusion detection, malware infections, denial of service attacks, privileged account misuse and/or network breaches
- Create and maintain system documentation for security event processing
- Expand the usage of security monitoring tools to improve the security of the environment based on business use cases or changes in threat landscape
- Assess, evaluate situations and react quickly to minimize the impact in the case of a compromise
- Notify, assist and guide security administrators and coordinators in case of emergency cyber security incident
- Leverage existing technologies within the organization to expand the scope of coverage of the security monitoring service
- Differentiate between potential malicious activity or traffic and false positive alarms
