Ø  Assigns work to electrical technicians engaged in the repair / maintenance/construction of electrical equipment and associated control systems in the plant facilities.  

Ø  Ensures all activities carried out by subordinates are performed in accordance with company or client’s safety rules; men working are wearing proper protective clothing and using approved tools and equipment. 

Ø  Assists or performs actual repairs, troubleshooting on all electrical equipment/installations. 

Ø  Inspect and monitors the operating conditions of all electrical equipment/installations.  Directs/diagnoses faults in electrical equipment, repairs or replaces switches, controls, elements, wiring, etc., on a variety of electrical/process equipment and controls such as motor control centers, lighting systems, power distribution systems and motors/generators. 

Ø  Directs/locates faults in cables, carries out splicing and jointing repairs, performs repair or replacement of transformers, and performs repairs or replacement of high voltage switch gear, lubrication of electrical equipment/motors.  

Ø  Supervises and provides advice of job methods and procedures as applied to the fault diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment.  

Ø  Assists the maintenance planning section/department in the development of maintenance schedule, work and preventive maintenance schedules. 

Ø  Coordinates with other maintenance sections on matters pertaining to the availability of electrical equipment and systems, safety precautions, isolation and commissioning. 

Ø  Plans maintenance programs well in advance to ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials and too ls to eliminate delays. 

Ø  Gives inputs to supervisor regarding drawings and technical documents to conform with the “as-built” and maintain records.  

Ø  Must be qualified to troubleshoot and control the LV circuit diagram. 

Ø  Carries out other duties as required as assigned by immediate supervisor.
