- To support the ongoing operations of the MEDGULF Information Technology function by managing, maintaining and backing up all IT databases within the Company (i.e., MS SQL, Progress) to ensure their security, availability, integrity and highest possible performance, whilst monitoring their growth and planning for expansion when deemed necessary.
-To ensure the data within the database is clearly defined and remains consistent in all its states across all databases through the data transmission, storage and indexes
- To ensure data security across all databases by applying excess control mechanism i.e., listing and adding groups
- To monitor the performance of all databases and fine tune the system whenever needed or upon demand, by expanding database size and provisioning more resources
- To ensure the databases and the data within are properly backed up according to the pre defined backup plan outlined by system engineers, and by checking the system loops so as to restore the backups if required
-To test the integrity of current databases and new version of databases through the available tools in the MEDGULF IT department
-To prepare documentation standards for all Database Administrator tasks
- To communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure constant database integrity and security
-To ensure that data storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning properly and correctly
