Responsible for ensuring compliance of the Finance division with internal Polices & Procedures, and governmental/regulatory requirements, establishing and monitoring financial controls, creating/revising P&P documentation to keep them current and relevant, and establishing best practices across the division.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish continuous improvement process for the department in line with corporate and strategic guidance
  • Communicate best practices on Finance Control & Procedures to all Finance Departments
  • Review and quality assure all services and work-products delivered by the compliance specialist are in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation, monitor staff achievements, perform periodic performance appraisals, and provide guidance or coaching to direct reports in performing their delegated duties
  • Periodic review of KPI Dashboards, SLAs for department's performance & compliance monitoring
  • Coordinate between Compliance Department and concerned Finance Department for any “on request reports”/queries from government/regulatory agencies
  • Review the adoption of P&Ps across departments, and coordinate with department managers to improve adoption
  • Monitor & review compliance to prescribed P&Ps within Finance Division
  • Coordinate and oversee finance P&P updates by working with stakeholders within and outside Finance Division, as required
  • Monitor Implementation of best practices across departments
  • Supervise on Monitoring, testing on System setups and process for better controls and complaince with regulations and audit requirements
  • Handle Risk regulators, internal audit, compliance, GAB  requirements related to governance and internal controls
  • Monitor and report External & internal audit observations closure
  • Monitoring/Handling reported financial frauds within department
  • Investigate and report  financial violations assigned by CFO
  • Periodic review of related P&Ps to identify modifications, scope for improvement
  • Ensure scheduled P&P reviews are performed by process owners on time
  • Provide inputs for financial management reports as required by Management Accounting Dept
  • Review Chart of Accounts once every quarter
  • Resolve issues, follow up with other departments/divisions as required
  • Work with the MA manager and ensure that cost control measures initiated by the MA manager are followed by the departments/divisions
  • Track the progress of risk mitigation steps and resolution process for audit observations
  • Discuss risk control steps and audit observations with the concerned department and provide response to the risk management team/CFO
  • Conduct periodic, surprise audits on sample Manafeth, Petty Cash accounts
  • Primary point of contact within Finance Division for handling any suspected financial frauds
  • Conduct frequent audit of processes to check any potential finance related frauds in the departments
  • Investigate and analyze reported frauds in finance department and coordinate with the Fraud review committee as required
  • Review & approve employee access privileges for finance systems
  • Review changes/configuration changes to finance systems to ensure compliance to finance policies and procedures.
