Job Description

Job Purpose

Under the general guidance and supervision of Room Service Manager/Head Waiter and within the limits of established EHC Policies and Procedures and Food and Beverage Manual, responsible for taking down over the Telephone hotel guest order for Food & Beverage and for promotion/up selling of such orders. A Job for performing the function of cashier

Day to Day Duties

  1. To answer the telephone in RS office immediately.

  2. To greet the guest by name using the computer if a VIPs guest is identified a red sticker should be put on his order.

  3. To take order for the guests.

  4. To help undecided guests by suggesting dishes to promote sales over the telephone.

  5. To repeat the order to guests.

  6. To inform the guest how long his order will take. If any delay happens to call the guest and inform him about the delay.

  7. To thank the guest using his Ser name.

  8. To price and total guest bill.

  9. To pass orders to captain/waiters.

  10. 10 To post the guest bill on the system.

  11. To inform the Head Waiter/manager immediately, if any guest complaint and to record it in the guest comment book.

  12. To assist the guest requests regarding other hotel facilities.

  13. To obtain daily specialties from kitchen and pastry before the service start 11 am.

  14. To be fully trained about all dishes available consistency, quality value etc.

  15. To balance all daily sales, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and others.

  16. To compile floor/room cleaning list at 10 am the latest.

  17. To take the messages over the telephone for R/S Manager and other staff.

  18. To pass V1P fruit basket requisition to the head chef or his assistant to prepare, and Map VIP basket.

  19. To keep RS office tidy at all time.

  20. To help captain/ waiters when not busy tidying up mise en place set up of tables and trays.

  21. To keep log book up to date.

  22. To record staff absence according to H/waiter's instruction.

  23. To record all waiters tips in tip book.

  24. To attend departmental meetings training sessions

  25. To serve on food checker to confirm the items listed on guest check

Communication & Working Relationships:
  1. Reports directly to Room Service Manager/Head Waiter

  2. Interacts and cooperates with Room Service and kitchen as required.

Qualification & Experience

Formal qualification not required experience

Minimum Experience:

At least 2 years experience in a similar position gained in an international hotel chain.

Personality/appearance: pleasant, smart, well groomed and good speaking voice.

Age : 25-40 years

Sex : Male

Education : High School –

Language : English essential, and Arabic an advantage
