Job Description

Opening Duties:

1. Signs in on department time sheet and check communications binder/board for any special preparations of the day;

2. Counts and verify all floats, if applicable;

3. Update the function sheet and make folios for each function;

4. Brief all staff for upcoming shift.

Shift Duties:

1. Acts as replacement Manager when required;

2. Arrange shuttle service when required;

3. Assists with all guest needs;

4. Assists with accounts receivable;

5. Block and pre-register for guests as instructed;

6. Communicates with all hotel departments efficiently;

7. Completes all transactions and daily deposits, and verify float counts;

8. Directs phone calls as necessary;

9. Distribute paycheques;

10. Ensures lobby and public areas are kept clean and well-maintained;

11. Explains all hotel amenities, hours of operations and hotel policies to guests;

12. Finalizes daily requirements through property management system and duties from Guest Services Agents;

13. Greets each guest in a friendly and polite manner;

14. Keeps track of Lost & Found items;

15. Maintains current and updated reports (arrivals, departures, in-house guest lists, wake-up call logs, etc.);

16. Monitors surveillance equipment regularly, and ensure it is in good working order;

17. Operates the switchboard efficiently, handling and directing calls accordingly;

18. Performs check-ins and check-outs as required;

19. Posts banquet, dining room and phone payments and deposits accordingly;

20. Prepares a month-end for Manager’s review;

21. Program wake-up calls;

22. Provides guidance for all staff;

23. Receives and review all employment applications;

24. Review and file Housekeeping sheets;

25. Sort incoming and outgoing mail and sign for deliveries;

26. Take all special requests and lists for Club purposes;

27. Thank each guest as they leave the premises;

28. Updates currency rates;

29. Verify reservations upon guest arrivals;

30. Work with Managers with staffing, scheduling, and training all new staff.

Closing Duties:

1. Ensures relief personnel are ready and available to perform job duties;

2. Ensures all areas are locked and secured;

3. Inform relief personnel of any special requests, reservations or tasks needing to be done;

Signs out on timesheet and check schedule for upcoming shift(s).
