Job Description


Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

Day- to-day operations

  • Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Fitness Centre section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Fitness Centre Management

  • Retains interest of members and improve member relations, and manage any member personal training requirements by developing and monitoring auditable systems for this and promotion of those services

  • Ensures the delivery of a range of member services including gym inductions, fitness programmes, programme reviews and fitness assessments to an excellent standard by all members of the fitness team

  • Carries our routine safety inspections of all equipment, ensuring that all areas and equipment are maintained in a safe and working condition, and ensuring defective equipment is not used until repairs have been carried out

  • Ensures the operational maintenance and cleanliness of equipment are done periodically and that good working practices are maintained in accordance with health & safety procedures

Direction of Subordinates

  • Organises and supervises the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of Fitness Centre activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner

Continuous Improvement

  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Reporting

  • Prepares departmental reports of ELAF timely and accurately to meet Hotel and department requirements, policies and standards

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

Related Assignments

  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in fitness and sports

Minimum Experience:

  • 2-4 years relevant experience in Fitness Centre

Skills:

  • English Language - Intermediate

  • Knowledge of Policy & Procedure - Intermediate

  • Time Management - Basic

  • Business Skills & Understanding - Intermediate

  • Financial Awareness - Basic

  • Data Gathering & Analysis - Basic

  • Negotiation - Intermediate

  • Information Technology - Basic

  • Performance Management – Basic

  • Presentation – Intermediate

  • Project Management – Basic

  • Written Communication – Basic
