Role Purpose
Responsible for media delivery engineering and operations
Main Duties and Responsibilities
§ Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
§ Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
§ Configuration and testing of various networking equipment for production rollout
§ Interface with vendors to resolve technical issues with their equipment
§ Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties and provide progress reports, and otherwise escalate issues to executive management for approval and/or resolution.
§ Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
§ Perform daily CDN operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are available and manageable as necessary, such as perform regular file archival and purge; create, change, and delete user accounts per request; repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
§ Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
§ Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures and maintain data center equipment.
Work with various system vendors on evaluating new systems and solutions as part of next generation video distribution architectures and provide recommendations.
