Plater
Undertake Plating duties on various onshore and offshore installations.
Typial Day/Duties.
Works from Fabrication drawings to cut and shape all items required using a variety of tools and equipment, some of which require special training including flame cutting machines/ equipment.
Cuts and prepares steelwork.
Undertakes drilling, sawing and grinding duties.
Sets out primary steelwork and layouts of decks for platforms.
Ensures that all duties are carried out in line with project workscope and Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of self and others.
How this role fits in with the rest of the industry.
The Plater forms an important part of the fabrication team to ensure that structures, pipe work and other items are fabricated in line with specification and in a safe manner. This role can be based onshore (normally with offshore trips) or offshore.
Basic entry requirements include (necessary)
Relevant Trade Apprenticeship or equivalent
Basic offshore induction and emergency training (BOSIET)
Offshore Medical Certificate

Experience in manual labour e.g. construction, engineering or fishing industry.
Typical starting salary may be in the region of
AED16,000 - AED22,000
Typical Salary once experienced
AED20,000 upwards
