- Logistics Controller
- Logistics Controllers work in a variety of companies e.g. operators, equipment suppliers, transportation and logistics companies. They arrange for the transportation of equipment and materials to/from offshore or overseas or between onshore locations. Transportation is carried out by road, rail, air and sea – in the UK and overseas.
- Typial Day/Duties.
- Prepares shipping/air manifests.
- Plans and schedules the shipment of goods and materials from/to offshore or overseas locations.
- Maintains documentation/certification.
- Ensures special certification is obtained for transportation of dangerous goods.
- Ensures that all customs documentation is completed.
- Negotiates transportation costs with providers.
- Arranges insurance cover for materials in transit.
- Ensures that the end client is kept up to date about delivery schedules and potential delays.

- It is essential that equipment and materials are in the right place at the right time so that equipment and supplies are delivered on time to support operational requirements.
- Basic entry requirements include (necessary)
- Previous experience in logistics
- Good organisation/administration skills
- Good office IT skills
- Employers might also look for (desirable)
- Familiar with company materials/maintenance management system, SAP, etc.
- Awareness of requirements for transportation of hazardous goods
- Typical starting salary may be in the region of
- AED20,000 - AED30,000
