- Draughtsperson/ CAD Operator
- The role of Draughtsperson/CAD Operator tends to be found in engineering design offices in both large and small companies. They produce technical drawings and designs using traditional draughting techniques or by using computer aided design (CAD) software.
- Typial Day/Duties.
- Produces technical/engineering drawings and designs, 3D models, layouts, sketches, etc. to company or industry specifications and standards.
- Compiles design/work packages including procedures, calculations, etc.
- Checks all drawings produced to ensure accuracy and suitability.
- Ensures compliance with drawing/engineering office document control procedures.
- Provides general support to discipline engineers.
- Carries out site/offshore surveys and produce reports.

- The production of technical/engineering drawings and models is an essential part of the engineering process and the work is undertaken in all aspects of the industry including equipment/tool manufacture, large and small-scale engineering/construction projects, maintenance work scopes, etc.
- Basic entry requirements include (necessary)
- ONC/HNC in an engineering/technical discipline or equivalent
- Employers might also look for (desirable)
- Computer software expertise
- Specialist engineering experience e.g. mechanical, piping, subsea
- Previous experience of working in an engineering/design office
- Typical starting salary may be in the region of
- AED18,000 - AED25,000
