The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support to our employees, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365, particularly email administration and troubleshooting, and mid-level networking support. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

 The Mid-Level IT Support Specialist will be responsible for resolving a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues, while also contributing to the improvement of our IT infrastructure and support processes.

Responsibilities:

MS365 and Email Support:

  • Provide expert support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other related services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex email issues, including configuration, delivery, spam filtering, and mailbox management.
  • Implement and manage email security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with email migration .

Mid-Level Networking Support (with Junior Experience Foundation):

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity problems, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi issues.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance using network monitoring tools and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP issues.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of network infrastructure changes.
  • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems (basic level).
  • Experience with basic networking tasks such as cabling, patching, and initial network device configuration.

Technical Support:

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.  

System Administration:

  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including software updates and patching.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation and knowledge base.

Customer Service:

  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
  • Prioritize and manage support requests effectively.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT systems and applications.

Security:

  • Adhere to company security policies.
  • Assist in security incident response.
  • Educate users on security best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an IT support role, with demonstrable experience in networking, including junior-level tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and email administration, particularly Outlook and Exchange Online.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools, network monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • CCNA certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud-based networking technologies (e.g., Azure networking).
  • Experience with network security tools and practices.
  • Experience with wireless networking standards and implementation.
  • Experience with network cabling and physical network infrastructure.
