Job Description
• Develop and control execution of all maintenance procedures in the following plant areas , and where needed:
o Furnace
o Slag granulation plant
o Slag crushing and classifying plant
o Iron refining station
o Continuous Casting Plant
o All raw material and final product handling systems
o Large vehicle maintenance workshop
• Investigate and improve equipment applicability and reliability
• Determine and control staffing and in-house training (in collaboration with HR) of mechanical maintenance department
• Execute cost control in the department
• Control maintenance planning activities, maintenance orders, timeous completion of all preventative maintenance activities
• Determine and improve life-cycle cost of all furnace and ancillary equipment
• Schedule and control execution of all maintenance procedures , including plant shut-downs
• Assist in development of all SHEQ procedures, ensure proper implementation, maintenance and development thereof to ensure continuous improvement
• Determine necessary maintenance spares (types and stock levels)
• Be involved in identifying and execution of all smaller plant improvement projects.
Skills
• B Eng degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in supervision and mechanical maintenance of large installations and operating manufacturing facilities
