Role Purpose: Olayan Group currently uses the Microsoft Windows as base standard, where Desktop Administrator is support to windows bases operating environment and all related application setup/support surrounding it. Most common support related areas are the basic MS Office based software like word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project, MS Visio, Outlook etc. Furthermore Desktop Administrators are responsible of all Client software installation and basic trouble shooting for the ERP System in use by various Business Units of Olayan Group. Printers, Scanners configurations, Basic Desktop usage training are the broad line expectations from a Desktop Administrator. IT support to all Business Unit users and BIS resources for all type of front end support and equally coordination a solution finding with the help of exchange, servers, database and network administrators are also the important areas of Desktop Administrator. In summary to System reliability /availability at all times, contribute in developing and achieving BIS goals and objectives as per BIS Annual Strategic Intent. JOB CONTEXT & OPERATING ENVIRONMENT BIS Data Centres were established using state of the art IT technology and are connected online with each other, (AL-Khobar, Riyadh, and Jeddah) forming a full redundant triangle, BIS Wide area Network Kingdom Wide is connected with our international Offices (AT&T Network) through BIS Riyadh Gateway , The main objective for BIS to have a solid and redundant infrastructure Kingdome Wide is to provide stable, reliable, uninterrupted, and quality IT Services to Olayan Group Users/Management, Following are examples of the BIS IT Services rendered to Olayan Group End-users: Networking, Desktop support, Data communication, VOIP, remote access methods, Internet Browsing, VPN connectivity, Group and Internet Email system, System Software support, infrastructure maintenance and support, ERP support,…etc. WORK RELATIONSHIPS, COMMUNICATIONS Internal: 1- Within BIS, close communication with Operation Manager, Systems Manager, and other administrators like, network, help desk, database, exchange & Servers. Coordinate and follow-up of all imminent activities as per BIS strategic intent direction. 2- Within TOG, close communication with Business Units/Central Processing Units managements, TOG international IT members, and close coordination with key user’s to deliver IT services, Technical presentations, and required user training. External: Frequent contacts with IT service providers, Software Suppliers, Vendors, IT consultants,
