Role Purpose: Operate / ensure operation of the computer systems and related equipments, execution of scheduled jobs, special request according to systems guidelines. Perform Backup/Restores, data transfers (over night) online or using CDs etc. as per the provided instructions from systems owners with the approval of Operations Manager.
IT support to all Business Unit users and BIS resources for all type of available connectivity, advise on Hardware equipment and technical aspects of the Systems Software, manage and monitor the Network Infrastructure to ensure smooth performance, ensure System reliability /availability at all times, contribute in developing and achieving BIS goals and objectives as per BIS Annual Strategic Intent.
JOB CONTEXT & OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
BIS Data Centres were established using state of the art IT technology and are connected online with each other, (AL-Khobar, Riyadh, and Jeddah) forming a full redundant triangle, BIS Wide area Network Kingdom Wide is connected with our international Offices (AT&T Network) through BIS Riyadh Gateway. Al-Khobar host main ERP Application and has round the clock support attendance for monitoring equipments and servers health, special application tune up tasks, overnight data backups, Business Intelligence cube buildings, data transfer to other BIS IT Centres etc. Additionally online monitoring of overnight Backup Procedures execution status etc are important assignments expected from Operation Team.
The main objective for BIS to have a solid and redundant infrastructure Kingdome Wide is to provide stable, reliable, uninterrupted, and quality IT Services to Olayan Group Users/Management, Following are examples of the BIS IT Services rendered to Olayan Group End-users:
Networking, Desktop support, Data communication, VOIP, remote access methods, Internet Browsing, VPN connectivity, Group and Internet Email system, System Software support, infrastructure maintenance and support, ERP support,…etc.
