Job Description
1. Provides technical expertise for the specification, design, purchase, installation and commissioning of instrumentation, analyzer, and systems components.
2.Lead the implementation of instrumentation reliability efforts, provide technical expertise to capital project groups, and provide technical leadership and guidance to the instrument maintenance organizations
3. Lead the implementation of the 2 year instrumentation infrastructure improvement plan.
4. Provide guidance to the site to improve safety by improving work practices, recommending and implementing equipment improvements, and keeping apprised of the latest instrument/electric safety codes and standards.
5. Provide oversight and assistance to the maintenance organizations to ensure compliance with the 2 year Instrument maintenance plan. Recommend improvements to the instrumental PM system for more cost effective execution and higher system reliability.
7. Identify global opportunities for improvement and recommend changes as required to site instrumentation and analyser systems for greater reliability.
Skills
• BS in Electrical engineering or Instruments Engineering.
• High level of computer knowledge
• Knowledge or various equipment and machinery used in chemical industries
• Mechanical Aptitude – use of precision measurement tools and assembly techniques
• Understanding of Chemistry and Physics
• Knowledge or various instrument equipment/ instruments controls and pneumatic devices.
• Working knowledge of chemical/industrial equipment function, design, and regulatory requirements and Plant shutdowns.
• Understanding of the National electrical/ mechanical Codes.
• ISO System and Procedures knowledge.
• Functionality with various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
• Familiar working within a manufacturing environment preferred
• Familiar within the Chemical sector or related industry preferred
