· Provide the leadership to the Electrical Maintenance Group, ensuring that the agreed design and engineering standards are maintained.
. To control and maintain the electrical supply to the plant and associated equipment.
. Direct and control all switch gear and switching throughout the plant.
· Be involved in the development of new standards and the improvement/ re-evaluation of those that are existing.
· Provide the respective, pertinent expertise for the cost effect design for project proposals.
· Upon implementation, work with the Purchasing group to ensure equipment and materials specification are met, evaluation of quotations, and ensuring deliveries meet the project schedule.
· Arrange for the hiring of temporary [contract] labor and equipment for construction, if existing resources are insufficient.
· As appropriate, arrange for the commissioning of the completed work and the acceptance of the project by the designated “Customer”.
· Oversee the construction programme targeting for zero disruption of existing process and that those involved work within the terms of the Loss Control Programme.
· Provide the necessary cost information and control for each project.
· B.Sc. in engineering discipline (will generally be Electrical).
· 5- 10 years involved in the Electrical Engineering field.
· A minimum of 5 years experience on a supervisory level.
· Working within accepted international design standards.
· Design capability within particular discipline.
· Ability to work with and direct other engineering disciplines.
· Can develop work schedules.
· Ability to progress various groups to achieve the given/ agreed time schedule for the project.
· Proven ability to work within agreed cost limits
