Job Description:
1. Functions under the direction of the Speech-Language Pathology Service Team Leader and the Rehabilitation Unit Supervisor. The SLP reports continuous progress and updates on a weekly basis to the service team leader.
2. Adheres to the Mission and Vision values of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare. The SLP is a proactive member of the Rehabilitation department, regularly collaborating with Occupational therapists and Physiotherapists in providing the best possible care for all patients.
3. Monitors own patient case load, in in-patient and out-patient settings, ensuring a comprehensive service delivery model that is evidence based and patient-family centered. The SLP interacts directly with patients and their families, and updates other professionals on patient’s status when needed in inter or multi-disciplinary team clinics. The SLP is responsible for providing patient care that is age appropriate, and addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs of the patient.
4. Participates and coordinates staff development and professional self-development with positive communication and behaviors. The SLP is a role model to the team and assists others in performing their responsibilities of patient care, organization support and is self-directed. Flexible with being able to provide in-patient coverage for Dysphagia and Feeding disorders during weekday, weekend and holidays as on-call basis. Service leader coverage responsibilities required.
المهارات
• Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or any other related field
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required if Bachelor’s degree is not in Speech-language Pathology)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience post - graduate as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Competent in functioning independently for providing both in-patient and out-patient speech language pathology services. Sufficient experience in an acute-care setting to function with multi-disciplinary teams and be competent in assessing and managing both pediatric and adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
