• Civil Engineer′s role is to schedule, coordinate and supervise project engineering activities, and assist the Project Manager to execute and deliver the project on time and within budget, to achieve the Company strategic plan objectives.
• Document Terms of Reference to identify Planning and Scheduling objectives, scope, tools and deliverables
• Identify and recruit suitably skilled and qualified team members
• Establish a physical Civil Engineer Office on the project site
• Schedule the phases, activities and tasks required to execute the project
• Recommend quality targets and standards, and procedures for quality assurance and quality control
• Schedule the required resources
• Create a budget for Civil Engineer’s office expenditure
• Produce a Risk Plan to ensure that all high priority risks are identified and mitigated early
• Document the Project Manger’s acceptance criteria for each project deliverable
• Establish a clear Communications Plan
• Assist in the migration of existing staff, assets and processes to the Project site
• Regularly monitor progress against schedule
• Control expenditure to ensure project delivery within budget and time
• Ensure that defined quality targets are achieved, by undertaking quality assurance and quality control
• Monitor, control and manage the implementation of project change requests
• Raise high priority risks to Project Manager and implement all risk actions
• Identify and resolve all issues currently affecting the Project
• Gain Project Manager’s acceptance of each deliverable
• Keep Project Manager regularly and suitably informed of project progress
• Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
• Investigates, and surveys structures and equipment to determine feasibility and options.
• Coordinates construction and maintenance activities at project site, including supervision of construction personnel (i.e., operators, labours, and site foreman) and subcontract personnel assigned to the project.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
•Coordinates contractual commitments for contractors including costs, quality, schedule, and field activities.
•Maintains quality of work in accordance with the standards specified in the design documents.
•Tests construction materials to meet quality assurance requirements of the design.
•Analyses reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
•Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
•Directs construction and maintenance activities at project site.
•Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
•Maintains effective communications and coordination between the company and the design engineer to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
•Review, Plan and coordinate design and construction operations to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications.
•Supervise the engineering team in ensuring completion of the project per schedule within budget and in accordance with quality standards.
•Monitor, verify and document the work being performed
• Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools and work procedures required
• Experience in Low, Mid and High Rise Building Projects of more than SR.50 million project value
• Working knowledge of Building Codes and industry standards preferred
• Experience in the Middle East construction industry
• 4 years engineering (or construction) degree
• Advance understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups essential
• English only, and/or Bilingual English and Arabic
