Job Description
•Distributes a fixed range of products to stores to meet requirements, loading and unloading the van, and ensuring that set sales targets are achieved.
•Checks that the assigned vehicle for refrigerated goods shows the correct temperature for the products to be carried, and reports any problems to the Sales Manager immediately.
•Maintains sufficient stock in the van to meet customer demands by checking supply levels in each outlet and ordering from the warehouse as appropriate.
•Monitors stock to prevent losses and damages, and ensure that all stock is rotated regularly to avoid wastage.
•Ensures that stock is correctly merchandised and positioned effectively, secures sufficient shelf space in the respective category location and uses POSM when required by the outlet.
•Adheres to a set visit frequency and agreed route plan, and works to achieve sales and distribution targets. Schedules customer visits within the designated areas to ensure stock availability.
•Collects cash from customers and ensures accurate reconciliation with customer invoices, prior to submitting cash to Finance. Implements credit terms and controls as per the policy and Sales Managers guidelines, and undertakes a van reconciliation every month end to tally cash, invoices and stock held.
•Reports any stock issues in good time to the external 6 team supervisor for prompt resolution, and observes and reports on any significant market activities and other relevant issues. Produces sales records on a daily basis, and ad hoc reports as and when required.
•Carries out daily vehicle checks to ensure cleanliness and safe working order, and reports internal 6 any technical problems to the team supervisor.
•May be required to carry out ad hoc duties for the company within the scope of his / her skills and experience.
•Daily external contact with customer staff
•Drives either a refrigerated or non – refrigerated vehicle to different locations within a set route plan and adheres to sales and distribution targets
•Holds accountability for the stock in his van and for the safekeeping and reconciliation of cash collected from customers.
Standard working week of 44 hours, excluding meal breaks, which may be spread over five and half day at the discretion of the company.
Works mainly outside to visit outlets and will need to drive a van and unload products for customers, and occasionally POSM and stands.
Skills
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
•School Leaving Certificate
•Fluency in spoken and written English (with Arabic an advantage)
•Valid Bahraini driving licence
EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum of 2 years driving
•Knowledge of road system and geography of Bahrain
•Previous sales / cash handling role
