Job Outline:
To work with and assist site engineers in performing on-site technical and operational services related to the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical distribution equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Perform assigned testing and commissioning activities within the assigned time frames.
2. Responsible for completing and filing all necessary testing documents and reports.
3. Responsible for ensuring all testing equipment being used is within calibration and to notify the department head if this is not the case.
4. Responsible for reporting man-hours expended during assigned tasks for tracking against forecasted man-hours.
5. Review testing and commissioning procedures to ensure activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
6. Ensure that all testing activities are performed in accordance with company and industrial standards for health and safety.
7. Responsible for ensuring all testing equipment being used is within calibration and to notify senior personnel when equipment requires calibration.
8. Perform additional functions as required by management.
1-3 years experience in the testing of power distribution equipment. Applicant must be familiar with power distribution equipment operation, including but not limited to power transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, motor control centers, protective relays, generators.
Applicants must be able to read single line, control and logic diagrams (both discrete and PLC based) related to equipment and substation operation, as well as carry out wiring modifications to existing equipment.
Applicant should have basic computer skills (windows, MS Office), be familiar with ANSI, NEMA, IEC and UL standards, and well versed in the usage of standard test equipment and their applications.
