Purpose of the Job (Overall accountability)• To build relationships with key government officials in order to facilitate and expedite AMG operations.• To actively market AMG interests and brand image to key government officials in order to generate awareness.Principal responsibilities / accountabilities• Develops strategies and plans in order to gain and build relationships with key governmental officials, in order to expedite AMG’s operational processes.• Implements communication programs to ensure positive and productive relationships with the government officials, and public sector organizations.• Coordinates communications with government contacts, for all divisions of AMG, in order to facilitate activities including, the attainment of government approval, the processing of documentations, and the acquisition of licenses and/or permits.• Keeps in touch with the government officials and updates regarding the procedures, duties, and any protocols involved in AMG’s operations.• Updates records regarding taxes on imports and exports, licensing and registration policies and protocols, quotas and tariffs, as well as the contact details of key officials within the government who have been designated authority over each of these matters.• Liaises with government officials to ensure government records of AMG are always up to date and accurate; in order to prevent any delays and complications in future transactions and operations.• Ensures that all fees, fines, and any other outstanding payments are made to the relevant government officials in order to maintain harmonious relations.• Investigates any complaints or warnings emanating from governmental offices in relation to the activities of any of the AMG divisions and/or representatives in order to resolve the issue and elicit government approval.• Advises the Manager – General Administration, on the issues relating to AMG’s relationship with the government and its potential impact on AMG operations.• Assess the current state of relations with key government officials to gauge areas to build upon and implications on the activities at AMG.• Observes and reports on social, economic and political trends that might affect relations with government bodies and officials over the medium to long term.• Formulates policies and procedures relating to interaction, communication, and transactions with government officials, for all division of AMG to abide by.Note: The principal accountabilities listed above are an illustrative list and not an exhaustive list. Additional responsibilities may be added from time to time depending on organisational requirements.
Experience/s Essential• Degree in public relations, marketing or communications.• 2-3 years experience in public relations and/or government relations in a similarly diversified conglomerate within the country.Desirable• Working knowledge in English and Arabic languages.
