The Role:
As Shift Manager in the Central Production Facility, it will be your duty to oversee the operation of workstations during the shift, ensure effective and efficient use of labour and resources whilst following site safety, quality and operational procedures. You will train staff in all areas (where competent to do so) including normal operation, changeover, routine maintenance tasks, as required, and will coordinate the efforts of line engineers to minimise downtime and maximise productivity. It will also be your responsibility to liaise with QA / QC to ensure quality and technical matters are promptly addressed.
Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):* Ensuring area output, manning and quality standards are achieved* Participating in routine engineering tasks and managing line engineers to ensure continuous improvement and planned maintenance work is kept up to date* Ensuring the use of standard operating procedures to give a consistent platform for carrying out packaging operations* Controlling staff levels, and reporting and undertaking disciplinary matters (to verbal level) in line with company policy* Ensuring adherence to all company quality, safety, environmental & production procedures and policies.
This is a shift position. Night (or rotating) shift work may be required. The hours worked will be appropriate to reflect the needs of the business. On occasion you may need to work off-shift when the need arises in order to contribute to project work or continuous improvement initiatives. You must also be prepared to train in additional skills (e.g. engineering).
Qualifications & Requirements:You will have:
* A Degree level qualification (or equivalent)
* Good English Skills, both spoken and written
* Computer literacy, with a strong command of MS Office applications.
