Reports to: Director of Clinical Support ServicesResponsible for: All staff in assigned Clinical Support Services DepartmentsJob Summary: To direct all operations in assigned Clinical Support Services Departments including, but not limited to day-to-day operations, personnel management, strategic planning, Qualify Improvement and collaboration within Clinical Support Services and other hospital departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:-Interview, select, train, evaluate and counsel all staff in assigned Clinical Support Services Departments.-Develop and institute proper orientation for all employees upon arrival or upon transfers from other departments in the hospital.-Develop competencies for all staff in assigned departments, and ensure annual skills assessments are done.-Instruct and advise staff on changes in policies, procedures or working standards.-Direct development and implementation of department policies and procedures that are consistent with hospital policy and procedures.-Represent and participate in appropriate hospital committee activities.-Prepare annual capital equipment purchases and consumable stock levels during the year.-Develop, implement and monitor workload standards and productivity reports.-Ensure that CME programs exist for all staff in assigned departments, and that careers are developed to full potential.-Maintain standards in all departments to international level and stay abreast of all latest developments in the respective fields of responsibility.-Monitor departmental operations and objectives to ensure the most effective services are being provided.-Monitor department′s charging practices.-Develop, delegate and monitor departmenal goals, objectives and programs, and ensure timely completion.-Develop and implement quality assurance programs for the departments.-Collaborate with other departments to ensure delivery of quality services.-Confer with physicians and other department managers to resolve operational problems and promote communications and good guest relations with patients and the public.-Plan, assign and review the work of the staff in assigned departments.-Ensure that all policies, procedures and otehr regulations are followed and adhered to by staff.-Continually updates the strategical development of assigned departments to conform with SSH objectives, mission and vision.-Deputizes for the Director of Clinical Support Services when required.-Performs other tasks and duties within the scope of the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the job, as assigned by the Director of Clinical Support Services.
-Seven to 10 years work experience in the field of clinical expertise or in a similar management position.-No break in work experience in the previous 5 years.-Excellent communication skills required (written and spoken)-Previous management experience essential.-Proven track record in management of clinical departments-No notable physical effort required
