Job Description
1. Evaluate current and potential logistics service providers, based on standardized procedures.
2. Assist in determining Cristal’s shipping cost trends and optimal delivery carrier mix.
3. Analyze and model shipping/delivery costs, to assist in developing shipping cost forecasts and budgets.
4. Provide support for carrier contract negotiations by analyzing contract proposals and running various "what if" scenarios
5. Provide evaluation of markets trends to support market price forecasting.
6. Assist in determining service trends and improvement opportunities
7. Generate monthly reports on regional and global logistics performance.
8. Design information systems and tools to support reporting requirements.
9. Assist with long-range logistic network planning, determining optimized distribution profiles and developing detailed operational plans.
10. Assist with development of quantitative models supporting various aspects of the logistics function.
11. Provide additional analyses and tasks as needed to help improve the accuracy, reliability and efficiency of Logistics Functions
12. Track, report on, and explain key transportation indicators (volumes and costs, by mode, product, location etc,)
13Analyze operational distribution activities and make recommendations for improved service and processes
Skills
• BA or BS Degree (Logistics Management a plus) or equivalent in experience
• Masters Degree preferred.
• 4 – 5 years of relevant experience in shipping and ground transportation
• Experience with SAP systems – sound SAP admin knowledge
• Knowledge of software packages for cost and tracking of shipments
• Strong Computer skills: Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and email software
• Business modeling experience
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Basic understanding of financial statement analysis
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required
• Basic knowledge of shipping services, and customs procedures in the Middle East is preferred
