Job Description

Key Accountabilities:
• To develop safe working procedures that will reduce injuries whilst minimising impact on working efficiency
• To ensure that safe working practices are followed throughout all plant, office and site locations through direct observation and contact, together with the supervision of safety officers
• To manage and ensure quality of all house-cleaning operations, minimising injury through slipping, tripping etc
• To conduct safety checks, in respect of Fire, Safe working practices and Emergency Contingency responses, in accordance with procedural and frequency expectations, reporting to relevant managers on outcomes and notably, in respect of identified failings
• To ensure that remedial action is talking in respect of safety failings, following-up NCRs (Non Conformity Reports) until remedial action is signed off
• To ensure the availability of Fire-fighter, First Aid and Emergency Contingency responses, by leading teams of approved staff, requesting nominations for these positions from Departments, providing training and up-date as necessary and responding to their reports
• To deliver an annual bi-lingual training plan affording refresher and standard training to meet the accreditation needs of; First Aid, Emergency Contingency, Fire-fighting and Forklift truck driving personnel
• To lead to safety improvements and reductions in accidents by making recommendations for practice changes and resource improvements
• To manage waste material production by monitoring, segregating and advising on its accumulation with a view to reducing its volume
• To obtain and oversee adherence to building regulations certificates in relation to current and future MESC sites
• To ensure effective supervision of staff which takes account of capability, motivation, disciplinary and sickness issues

Skills

Total Experience:
• Health and Safety diploma (OSHA, NEBOSH)
• 7 years of factory working environments
• Awareness of Risk assessment practices

Competences and Skills:
• English and Arabic speaking
• Negotiating skills
• Ability to act assertively
• Training skills
• Organised and able to work to defined schedules
