With more than 17,000 employees and 1,700 stores, Alshaya is spearheading the expansion of more than 50 world-class leading retail brands such as Debenhams, Express, Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Mothercare, Starbucks, Mac, The Body Shop, H&M, Dean & Deluca and Boots in 17 countries across the Middle East, North Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.
The Area Manager will be supporting 3 brands: the market leading children’s fashion and hardware brand of Mothercare one of Alshaya’s oldest and most established franchise partners, the family fashion brand of Bhs and the value fashion brand of Peacocks.
As an Area Manager you would be responsible for operationally driving performance in 10 stores. Reporting directly into the Operations Manager, the Area Manager is responsible for all store and employee development; he/she is also accountable for visual merchandising in assigned stores and actively contributes to the development of Business initiatives relevant to brand projects.
To lead store teams to achieve their sales targets, shrinkage targets and control operational costs in order to meet the Business Plan.
To maximize the potential of Store Management and Employees through performance management, coaching, and identifying development opportunities to ensure all stores are staffed correctly including succession planning and ongoing monitoring of manpower planning.
To champion the brand in stores and create a two way feedback loop with the brand teams to enhance Business performance, including recommendations for promotion or mark down.
To build external networks to understand Market trends and competitor activity that once fed back into central teams allows us to maintain a competitive advantage.
To contribute to all aspects of Business development including new store openings and recommendations for closure. To liaise with internal and external parties to facilitate.
To ensure internal and external customer service is excellent through brand specific and Company wide training initiatives.
Substantial operational retail experience is required.
Multi-site or large site management experience is required.
You must be capable of communicating clearly and confidently at all levels (good to fluent English Language skills are essential).
You must have the ability to interpret business information & statistics to analyse & identify commercial opportunities or potential risks.
You have the ability to inspire and motivate a team into achieving their goals.
A proven track record of making a difference to the profit ’bottom line’ is required.
